third day rather than “on the third day” (at the beginning of

the third day).

The reference to this passage in Strong’s Exhaustive Con-

cordance of the Bible, shows that the word

has no corre-

sponding reference number behind it. According to the in-

structions in Dr. Strong’s book, this means that the word does

not appear in the Hebrew text of Scripture; that it was added

by the translators for clarity. So we can drop the word

because it has been added.

Revival And Restoration

The next key words in the passage are revive and restore.

Revive also appears as the translation in the King James Version

(KJV). It means to quicken—and the Lord is certainly going to

be doing this during the Tribulation. In the KJV, restore is

translated raise up. It means to be established, as well as to

raise up or restore. The Lord has certainly made it clear that

Israel will be restored at that day (the day of the Lord): “In that

day I will restore David’s fallen tent (Amos 9:11).”

Chapters 8-13 of Hosea further expand the Hosea 6:2 pas-

sage on reviving. It is clear that this will occur in the future. For

“…begin to waste away under the oppression of the

mighty king”

(Hos. 8:10). This, of course, is the Antichrist.

“The days of punishment are coming”

(Hos 9:7), refers to the

last week of Daniel’s 70th week, or the Tribulation.

All is stated clearly in Hosea 3:4-5:

“For the Israelites will

live many days without king or prince, without sacrifice or sa-

cred stones, without ephod or idol. Afterward the Israelites will

return and seek the Lord their God and David their king. They
